Discover More of Our Herbs
Everything you need to know about your new favourite ritual:
Where do your herbs come from?
Many of the herbs we use are grown right here in the Pacific Northwest, a region with an incredible abundance of medicinal plants. Whenever possible, we love working with herbs that thrive close to home, supporting local growers and nourishing our minds and bodies with the plants that naturally grow around us.
That said, some herbs simply aren't suited to our climate. When sourcing botanicals from elsewhere, we look to the regions where they have traditionally grown and have been used for generations. Whether it's Ashwagandha from India or Olive Leaf from the Mediterranean, we believe herbs are often at their best when cultivated where they naturally flourish.
No matter where an herb comes from, our sourcing standards remain the same. Every plant is carefully sourced for its quality, purity and sustainability.
Are all of your herbs organic?
More than 85% of the herbs we use are Certified Organic. For the remaining herbs, we source from trusted growers who follow the same high standards for quality and cultivation, but have chosen not to pursue formal organic certification.
We are so grateful to have developed partnerships with many small, independent growers who are doing really incredible work. For many of these small growers, the cost and administrative requirements to become certified organic is simply too much - but that doesn't mean that the plants that they are growing are any less than those with the official certification.
Every herb we use is meticulously sourced for its quality, purity, and sustainability. Sourcing is one of the most important parts of what we do - we are firm believers that exceptional products begin with exceptional ingredients! If you want to know more about where a particular herb comes from, feel free to connect with us and we are always happy to chat.
How is Adaptogenic Matcha different than regular Matcha?
Our Adaptogenic Matcha starts with organic, ceremonial grade matcha, then goes a step further by blending it with nourishing adaptogenic herbs including maca, holy basil, shatavari, amla, and goji.
Adaptogenic herbs and superfoods have traditionally been used to support a healthier, more balanced stress response, to nourish the nervous system and promote overall wellbeing. The result is a deeply nourishing beverage that's about more than just a caffeine boost.
Why does your Adaptogenic Matcha have a more muted green colour to it than other Matcha?
If you've ever had a really good cup of Matcha before, you're likely used to a really bright, vibrant green colour. The base of our Adaptogenic Matcha is an organic, ceremonial grade Matcha powder that absolutely meets that expectation. However, once we blend the Matcha with the herbs and superfoods, the colour is naturally softened into a more muted green colour. In this case, we consider the muted colour to actually be a good thing as it speaks to the amount of adaptogenic herbs and superfoods you're getting with your Matcha!
Is your Matcha safe to drink during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Some herbs are not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or have a pre-existing medical condition, we highly encourage you to speak with your healthcare provider before using any herbal remedies.
